Pennsylvania Waterfall Elopement in the Spring

Waterfall Elopement in Pennsylvania

When Danielle and Matt were planning their waterfall elopement in Pennsylvania in the spring, they had one request, “Can we go INTO the waterfall?” My instant response, was an enthusiastic “YES!” I am generally game for whatever adventure you can dream up on your wedding day, especially photos in a waterfall.

Finding their Perfect Elopement Location

The couple chose Drumore Mill for the location of their elopement. Drumore Mill is a beautiful historic Grist Mill set on Fishing Creek in Lancaster County. They invited their immediate families to take part in an intimate ceremony inside the pavilion overlooking the waterfall. They wanted a location that would be easily accessible for their families, and to be surrounded by woods and a waterfall. The brother of the bride was the Officiant, and performed a sweet and intimate ceremony. We all laughed and cried(me too!) After the couple said “I do”, and kissed, they walked down the aisle. Afterwards, they made an emotional group toast with their families. We took some group photos, and then prepared for the waterfall.

Including a PA Waterfall in your Elopement Day

Going into a waterfall on your elopement day, means you need to plan ahead. We all brought our water shoes and towels. I brought my underwater casing for my camera in case I would slip on a rock. Despite it being April in Pennsylvania, (we were expecting the water to be shockingly cold) it was surprisingly tolerable, and maybe even refreshing. Haha! Eventually the couple worked their way around the falls, while I stood in the pool of water below trying to document their love and spirit of adventure. It was one of the most fun things I have done on an elopement day, and I hope I get to do it again someday. Regardless of what you can dream up, I am game for whatever activity you want to add to your day.

Some Final thoughts on choosing a Pennsylvania Waterfall Elopement

There are so many options when choosing the perfect location for your elopement, but if you and your partner are suckers for a waterfall(aren’t we all?), then I would try to include one, and maybe even take the plunge and get into the water. You will not regret it.
