This is such a fun time in the world of weddings because the rules no longer apply. Your day can look and feel however you want it to, As a Shenandoah elopement photographer, I help couples plan and capture epic adventures in Shenandoah National Park with zero stress. just joy.
You could take a sunrise hike up Stony Man Trail, and exchange vows, stop at Broad Porch Coffee for a latte and a baked good, go kayaking or canoeing on the Shenandoah River, and then meet up with your closest friends and family for an intimate ceremony, dinner, and drinks. In Shenandoah, you truly can do it all on your wedding day.
Shenandoah boasts over 500 miles of trails with sweeping Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountain views. There are countless waterfalls, open wildflower fields, and endless
vistas along Skyline Drive. It’s a dream backdrop for an
adventure-filled “I do.
If you like adventure, Shenandoah is definitely for you! There are incredible trails to hike (Old Rag is one of my favorite trails of all time), rock climbing, kayaking on the Shenandoah River, bike riding, and don’t forget about the wine and brewery trail. Come ready to explore!
If you have less than 15 people, you do not need a permit to get married in Shenandoah National Park. It doesn’t get any easier than that!

“We simply cannot say enough amazing things about Aimee!! From the very start she was WONDERFUL. She was super flexible, helpful, and inspiring when we were trying to make decisions for spots/plans for the engagement shoot and our wedding day - I remember her words to me being “Dream big!”. She worked so hard to understand our vision we had for our engagement shoot and wedding day, and she truly blew us away with both!”

“Aimee is a ray of sunshine casting light at all the perfect moments in the most perfect ways ♥️ My husband and I couldn’t have been more grateful to Aimee. She not only captured every tender and spectacular moment but she was also a voice of reason and calm- such a vital friend to have around our crazy and roll-with-the-punches family."

“Aimee is such a gifted photographer (praise given by two pretentious NYC art school grads) and was the second best wedding-related decision we made, aside from marrying each other. 100/10 would recommend! don't blink! Just book her. ;)”

Do we need a permit to elope in Shenandoah National Park?
If your ceremony includes fewer than 15 people (including your photographer and officiant), you usually don’t need a permit. If you’re planning something a bit bigger, I’ll walk you through the simple permit process — it’s nothing to stress about.
Can we include family or friends in our Shenandoah elopement?
Absolutely. Whether it’s just your parents joining you at an overlook or a cozy post-ceremony dinner with your closest friends, we can create a day that balances meaningful time with your people and adventure just for the two of you.
What’s the best time of year to elope in Shenandoah?
Each season has its magic: spring brings wildflowers, summer has long golden evenings, fall lights up the mountains with color, and winter is peaceful and quiet. I’ll help you pick the perfect time based on your vibe (and your comfort with chilly mornings!).
Do we have to hike?
Nope! Shenandoah has incredible overlooks that are steps from your car — but if you want a short or moderate hike to a more private spot, I’m all in. I’ll suggest options based on your comfort level and vision.
What if the weather doesn't cooperate?
Mountain weather can be unpredictable, so I always help build in a backup plan. Some of the best moments happen when we lean into the unexpected (plus, fog makes for really romantic photos).
