Want to start the day hiking through Arches National Park? Jeep out to a canyon rim for vows. Take golden hour portraits surrounded by red rock walls, then grab tacos or a beer back in town with your favorite people. You can do all of that in Moab.
As a Moab elopement photographer, I work with couples who feel most like themselves outdoors. Couples who would rather be on a trail than in a ballroom. Who care more about the experience than the production. My role is to document your day as it naturally unfolds, capturing the movement, the connection, and the quiet moments in between while you stay fully present in the desert.
The dramatic red rock formations of Moab create a breathtaking backdrop for adventurous “I dos.” From its otherworldly landscapes to its free-spirited vibe, Moab offers a one-of-a-kind setting for your elopement. Here are a few reasons couples fall in love with this desert paradise:
Think dramatic red rock formations, natural arches, slot canyons, and wide-open desert views. The light out here is pure magic — especially at sunrise and sunset.
Hike, climb, paddle, 4x4, or simply wander. Whether you're after a laid-back morning or a full day of exploration, Moab has something for every kind of couple. and brewery trail. Come ready to explore!
You can keep it just the two of you or bring along your people. Moab offers both off-the-grid ceremony spots and welcoming local spaces for dinner or a small reception.

“Aimee is not only incredibly talented but also a joy to work with, bringing both professionalism and warmth to the entire experience! We are so grateful to have a photographer who captured our day in a relaxed and beautiful way. ”
Viktoriya + Levi
“Aimee was honestly INCREDIBLE. Somehow, from the very first minute she felt more like a dear friend than someone we just hired to photograph our wedding. She captured all of the moments we were hoping for as well as so many more that we weren’t expecting. The photos are STUNNING. You can feel the emotion in her shots. We would hire her again and again and again."
Kim + Bobby
"Aimee makes you feel comfortable, at ease, invisible and a beautiful aura the entire day. She was able to perfectly capture my silly, goofy and emotional self along with the most important moments of the day that collectively tell our story perfectly. There are so many moments on film that I will cherish forever."

Do we need a permit to elope in Moab?
Yes, most popular spots like Arches and Canyonlands National Parks require a permit for ceremonies. Dead Horse Point State Park and some BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas also have permit rules. I’ll help guide you through which locations need them, how much they cost, and how far in advance to apply.
What's the best time of year for a Moab elopement?
Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are the most popular because of comfortable temps and gorgeous light. Summer can be extremely hot, and winter is quieter but can bring chilly nights. Sunrise and sunset are always the best times of day for photos.
Can we bring guests to our Moab elopement?
Yes. You can absolutely include guests in your Moab elopement. There are plenty of locations that allow for small gatherings, and I’ll guide you toward one that fits your group while still feeling adventurous and personal.
Do we have to hike to get epic photos?
Not at all. Moab has plenty of incredible overlooks you can drive right up to. If you’d like a little adventure, there are short hikes under a mile that lead to stunning arches and canyon views. And for full-day explorers, there are longer hikes or jeep tours that reach some truly wild spots.
How do we get our marriage license in Utah?
You’ll need a Utah marriage license from any county clerk’s office (Grand County is in Moab). There’s no waiting period, so you can use it the same day.
Can we include adventure activities in our elopement?
Yes! That’s one of the best parts of eloping in Moab. You can add a jeep tour, hot air balloon ride, stargazing session, or even a private chef dinner at your Airbnb. I’ll help you build a timeline that weaves in both your ceremony and the fun extras.
