Promise Ridge Wedding

January 14, 2025

Jessica and Eddie live in Michigan, but fell in love with Promise Ridge in PA during a google search for the Best Elopement Destinations They both knew they wanted their children to be there (they are kind of like an even sweeter version of the Brady Bunch), and for it to be a real celebration of the joining of two families. With those things being the focus, they planned the perfect Promise Ridge Wedding.

What makes Promise Ridge  one of the top Elopement Destinations in the World?

Promise Ridge is the at-home ceremony space of Celebrant Alisa Tongg, and is only available for couples whose ceremonies she officiates. Everything about this space has been curated in a way that is elegant, cozy, and convergent with nature. As a Celebrant, there is no one better. Her ceremonies are emotional and centered around the couple, and their story. We also cannot forget to talk about the views at the Ridge. They are breathtaking.

Family Road Trip to the Poconos

Once Jessica and Eddie chose Promise Ridge for their Microwedding, they decided to take an epic road trip with their family to get there. They hopped in their vehicles and made the drive to the Poconos, making fun stops along the way. It was so cool getting to witness how much both families really loved each other.

A Small Outdoor Ceremony Under the Trees

Promise Ridge has the most gorgeous ceremony space.  The views of the Pocono Mountains overlooking the Appalachian Trail ridge, and the living wall provided the perfect backdrop for Jessica and Eddie to say “I do”. In front of their immediate families, they shared an emotional ceremony (I don’t think there was a dry eye) They also included a Ring Warming Ceremony where each guest “warm” the rings up with a prayer, good wishes, or positive intentions for the couple’s future together before passing them on to the next person.

Dinner under the Pavilion and Dancing on the Infinity Deck

After their touching ceremony, the couple and their families moved to the Pavilion for a family style dinner and drinks. All of the food was prepared by the talented Chef Catharina Litjen. It was such a relaxed and fun time for the entire family to just sit together and take in the day. After dinner, the couple shared a first dance. They also danced with each of their children, which was so special. They ended the night with some more dancing, and a sparkler send off. It really was the most beautiful family focused intimate wedding.
