Megan and Michael live abroad, but planned the perfect intimate wedding At RE Farm Cafe in Megan’s home state of Pennsylvania. They envisioned a day that had a lot of natural beauty with the surroundings and florals, but also did not want anything stuffy or overly formal. It was important for them to have a relaxed day, surrounded by nature, and their closest friends and family. They decided to celebrate their day at RE Farm Cafe at Windswept Farm under the most beautiful sailcloth tent.
About RE Farm Cafe at Windswept Farm
This working organic vegetable farm is home to a sustainable farm-to-table cafe and event space. The views are stunning, and the food for your event is harvested from the farm (it doesn’t get any fresher than that)
First Look in a Greenhouse
Megan and Michael love food and cooking together, so when they suggested a first look in a greenhouse, I thought it was the perfect place. It was so unique and fun, and totally them! We set Michael up between a row of tomato plants(how cool is that?!?), and then brought Megan in for the big reveal. It was so joyful!
An intimate outdoor wedding ceremony
Megan and Michael got married under a gorgeous Mulberry Tree, and the dreamiest floral arrangements. The sister of the groom officiated, and made the ceremony even more heartfelt and special. One of my favorite moments during the ceremony, which I had a hand in executing, was the couple blindly choosing a ring bearer. Before the ceremony, they had me tape their rings under the seat of a random unsuspecting guest. During their ceremony, the guests were instructed to look under their chairs, and whoever found the bag of rings, would be the ring bearer. It added such a fun element of surprise to the ceremony.
A quick stop for Photos in the Kitchen at RE Farm Cafe
The couple love cooking together so much that they wanted to take photos in the kitchen. I absolutely love when couples think outside of the box. I also love food, so this was a real creative treat for me as well.
Reception Under a Sailcloth Tent
I love a Tent Wedding(From a photography stand point Tent weddings are great because you can bounce your flash off the white tent, and get lovely even lighting), and this one went above and beyond. The couple rented the most charming Sailcloth Tent and checkered dance floor, making the vibe elegant but fun. The couple made these delightful personalized name cards for all of the guests which included such things as origin of their names and cute details about their personalities. They also hired one of their favorite bands from when they lived in DC Oh He Dead Their original songs brought real energy to the reception.
