Kayli and Jake’s Camp Puh’Tok Wedding

February 20, 2025

Kayli and Jake planned the sweetest Puh’tok Camp Wedding. Not only did they invite their closest friends and family, they got to make a weekend of it. With enough bunk beds to go around, it was like a giant summer camp sleep over.  How fun is that? Kayli is also one of the craftiest humans I have ever met, and created so many of the custom details seen around camp.

What makes Camp Puh’Tok  the perfect location for a Summer Camp Wedding

Only 20 minutes from Baltimore, and an hour from DC, the location is perfect for couples that want to escape to nature for their wedding. With sixty-seven wooded acres of land, it has all of the space you need to relax and get back to nature. It also has enough lodging for 172 guests, so everyone can have a place to stay.

Camp Puh’tok Cabins

Kayli and Jake got ready in the most charming adjacent A-frame cabins, tucked away in the woods, surrounded by their closest friends. With rustic wooden bunk beds and nostalgic camp vibes, it felt like stepping back in time to those carefree summer days at camp. Laughter and excitement filled the air as everyone buzzed with anticipation, fully embracing the laid-back, joyful energy of the day. You could feel the love and excitement radiating from their friends, making it the perfect start to Kayli and Jake’s unforgettable wedding celebration

First Look at the A-frame cabin

The couple shared the sweetest first look in front of Kayli’s A-frame cabin. She stepped out of the cabin and down the wooden stairs, where Jake stood with his back turned, waiting with anticipation. Surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the forest, it felt like the perfect, intimate setting for them to see each other for the first time—a moment filled with love, excitement, and the magic of their wedding day.

Portraits at the Campground

After the first look, we took some time to photograph the couple with their families, and to explore the campground with just the two of them. Kayli and Jake have such an ease about them, and were up for anything, making our adventure around the summer camp an absolute joy. From hidden forest trails to an old Camp Fort, we made stops all around the property, creating playful, candid portraits that perfectly reflected their fun-loving spirits and deep connection.

Outdoor Ceremony in the Woods

Jake and Kayli exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony beneath the pines, on the most perfect October weather day. The day was filled with love, emotion, and meaningful personal touches that made their celebration truly unforgettable. One of their dearest friends officiated, adding heartfelt stories and the sweetest details that made everyone smile. In a beautiful reflection of their partnership, they chose to walk down the aisle together—both at the start and the end of their ceremony—a moment that felt so uniquely them. I absolutely loved how they embraced every opportunity to make their day their own, filled with intention, love, and authenticity.

Pizza Party and Reception

The evening ended with dinner from a Brick Oven Pizza truck, toasts, some epic dancing, and a couple magic tricks from Kayli’s dad who is an amazing magician. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day, fun and filled with joy!

A few words from Kayli and Jake

“From our first conversation with Aimee, my now-husband and I knew that there we would be no better choice to capture our wedding day! She showed such enthusiasm for our plans and visions- it became so easy to trust that she would exceed any expectations we could have from a wedding photographer. She is incredibly talented, communicative, professional, personable, and also just plain fun! She is a joy to work with and a joy to be around.

Aimee’s process is seamless, she comes with a plan and is extremely efficient with her time. She was so organized and allowed us to prioritize our time with our loved ones.

When we reminisce about our wedding day with our friends and family, we receive endless compliments about how incredible our photos turned out. We have heard more than once- “Your photographer is awesome!!!” Yeah…we know! We, as much as our guests, are just completely floored by her passion and presence. Failing to find any other words, it just felt like she was supposed to be there. We are so lucky to have found Aimee and to have had our wedding day captured through her eyes, her photos are the gift of a lifetime!”
